Vail’s Mike Kloser continued his dominance of the Colorado endurance sports scene with a winning time of 1 hour, 24 minutes and 43 seconds in the annual Imperial Challenge at Breckenridge on Saturday. The race includes a 6-mile bike ride, a 3,000-foot climb up the Breckenridge Ski Area and a 3,000-foot ski descent. Kloser, who holds the course record of 1:22.5, won for the sixth time, defeating Mike Hagen of Colorado Springs by 2 minutes, 21 seconds. Kloser’s Team Nike adventure racing teammate, Sari Anderson of Glenwood Springs, was the women’s champion, finishing in 1:42.54.

Best in Beijing. Canada’s Pierre-Luc Gagnon won the skateboard vert event and Brazil’s Sandro Dias won the skateboard vert best trick competition Saturday at the AST China Invitational, the Action Sports Tour’s first international event held at Beijing International Stadium.
Gagnon, 27, of Canada, executed a nearly flawless, technical run to earn a score of 91.75. Andy Macdonald of Boston was second with an 89.50 score.
