Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper is hiring R.D. Sewald as director of legislative services.
Sewald, a key official during former Mayor Wellington Webb’s tenure, will join Hickenlooper’s staff May 5.
For the past five years, Sewald has been director of government and community affairs and mayor/city council liaison for City Auditor Dennis Gallagher. He will earn $102,184 annually in his new position.
Sewald is a native of Denver. He is married to Abby Goldsmith, and they have three sons.
Hickenlooper’s City Council liaison, Robert Venegas, will move to a new post as policy adviser to the mayor.
