Ball Corp. said Wednesday it will close an aluminum beverage can manufacturing plant in Kent, Wash., that employs 111 people.
The plant is scheduled to close in the third quarter. Ball spokesman Scott McCarty said some employees could apply for other jobs or move to other facilities.
The company expects to record a pretax charge of about $12 million, or $7 million after-tax, from the closure in its second-quarter results.
