Jordon Dizon became the first player with Colorado ties to be taken in the NFL Draft when Detroit took the former CU linebacker in the second round with the 45th overall pick.
Five slots later, Arizona nabbed former Denver South all-stater Calais Campbell, a towering, 6-foot-8, 285-pound defensive end for the Miami Hurricanes.
Dizon, 6-feet and 229 pounds, became the first CU player to earn consensus All-America honors since current Bronco tight end Daniel Graham in 2001. Dizon led the Buffaloes with 160 tackles last fall, including 120 solos. He also recorded four sacks and two interceptions.
Detroit could be a good fit for Dizon. Outside linebacker was considered a position of need for the Lions.
