AURORA — An argument at an Aurora bar led to the murder and suicide of a couple in their 20s early Saturday, authorities say.

The man apparently drove to Scooter’s Bar and Grill to confront his girlfriend, whom he fatally shot in the parking lot before turning the gun on himself, according to the Aurora Police Department.

The department is withholding the names of the victim and gunman until relatives are notified.

The shooting took place shortly after 1 a.m. outside the bar at 13698 E. Alameda Avenue near Interstate 225.

Both were dead by the time authorities arrived.

Detectives found the gun at the scene, according to police reports.
