The novel sculpture of “Trumbo in the Tub” was inspired by his own 1935 novel, written about the very hometown whose main street he now graces. Blacklisted Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (“Johnny Got His Gun,” “Spartacus,” “Roman Holiday”) was memorialized in December 2007, based on a photo taken by his daughter, Mitzi. The sculpture was a product of a volunteer committee that had too much fun reprinting his scandalous book “Eclipse,” to benefit the Mesa County Public Library Foundation two years earlier.
