
CARSON, Calif. — Landon Donovan scored three times and had an assist to run his Major League Soccer-leading total to eight goals in five games, and the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated Chivas USA 5-2 on Saturday night.
The Galaxy’s Alan Gordon added two goals, with his first snapping a 2-2 tie in the 76th minute. Donovan gave Los Angeles a two-goal cushion a minute later with his third score of the game.
Donovan’s other goals came in the 18th and 59th minutes. The three-goal game was the second of his MLS career and first for Los Angeles.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Alejandro Moreno scored as Columbus remained unbeaten at home this season.
Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s corner kick was headed to the goal by Chad Marshall, but Dynamo goalkeeper Pat Onstad knocked the ball into Moreno’s path, setting up his fourth goal of the season in the 22nd minute.
Toronto FC 2, Wizards 0
TORONTO — Amado Guevara scored twice in the second half to give the second-year Toronto club a franchise- record third straight victory.
Toronto, which won only six of 30 games last year, improved to 3-2-0 and went above .500 for the first time ever. Toronto has beaten Los Angeles, Real Salt Lake and Kansas City during the streak.
D.C. United 4, Real Salt Lake 1
WASHINGTON — Jaime Moreno scored on two penalty kicks and had two assists to lead D.C. United.
United, which also got late goals from Santino Quaranta and Marcelo Gallardo, lost 4-0 in Utah to Real on April 12.
Carey Talley scored for Real Salt Lake.
