Littleton-based MicroSat Systems Inc.’s parent company, Sierra Nevada Corp., won a contract to build 18 satellites for satellite data-communications company Orbcomm.
The contract is worth $117 million for the 18 satellites and includes an option to buy up to 30 more satellites.
MicroSat will design the spacecraft for the satellites.
