The first, and perhaps most important, thing you need to know about the walleye that Jeremy Lindstrom caught April 29 at Cherry Creek Reservoir is that the scale he was carrying wasn’t big enough to weigh it.
Thus we have the length, 31 inches, to give substance to a fish that certainly would have pushed deep into double digits.
A second item of interest is that the Castle Rock resident wasn’t even trying for walleye at all.
“I was fishing for trout with a night crawler under a clear bobber,” Lindstrom said of his nocturnal excursion to a shallow-water location on the east side of the dam. The big bite came about 10 p.m.
