If you are thinking of eating probiotic foods because you have regularity problems, get frequent colds, take antibiotics or travel internationally, look for products that have been tested and shown effective for those conditions, says probiotics expert Mary Ellen Sanders.

You can find various strains of probiotics in yogurt, kefir, Crystal Light, Post LiveActive cereals, Kraft cheese, Breakstone’s and Knudsen cottage cheese, Attune Wellness Bars, Activia yogurt, GoodBelly juice and DanActive dairy drink, to name a few. If you are unsure whether a product contains the right bacteria for you, check its website or call the company and ask, says Sanders.
