We got started with our tribute to International Pickle Week a bit in advance of its start Friday by asking contributors to The Denver Post $25 Haiku Contest to versify on the subject of “Pickles.” And it was a good thing we gave ourselves some lead time, because it took a long time to decide which recipe suits us best. We like the flavor imparted by Krystal Hanson of Denver:

Vinegar dip in the pool
