A pilot received minor injuries after he landed his “Rotorway” helicopter in a Boulder County field and it rolled on it side, authorities say.

The 58-year-old pilot decided to land in a field near Arapahoe Road and 119th Street after the helicopter had mechanical problems. The name of the pilot was not released.

The helicopter was heavily damaged, said Sgt. Mike Linden of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

Federal investigators were responding to the scene, Linden said.
