Barely more than a week remains to register for the annual two-wheeled pilgrimage to Castle Rock known as the Subaru Elephant Rock Cycling Festival.
Mail-in registration is closed for the 7,000-cyclist event set for May 30-June 1, although walk-in registration spots remain at cycling shops around the Front Range until May 28 (a complete list is available at ). Dedicated slackers can pay a late registration fee until May 31, but there’s no guarantee any riding slots will remain.
Included in the schedule of events are the GoFast 24 Hours of E-Rock beginning May 30 at 6:30 p.m., followed by 8-, 32-, 50-, 65- and 100-mile road rides May 31, and even a 25-mile off-road course for fat-tired riders to take on before hitting Sunday’s party at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on June 1. On-site camping also is available at the fairgrounds.
