The second annual Santa Fe Women’s Celebration will be Saturday at the Center for Contemporary Arts, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe. There will be free music, performance art, poetry and kids’ programming during the day. Also check out dozens of booths showcasing New Mexico’s cottage industry female artists and artisans. Ticketed events with Odetta and The Be Good Tanyas will be in the evening. Cost is $29 for each general admission ticketed event. Kansas archaeology training.
In cooperation with the Kansas State Historical Society, the Kansas Anthropological Association sponsors the Kansas Archaeology Training Program, Saturday-June 15 at the Pawnee Indian Museum State Historic Site in Republic County. The Lucky Seven Rodeo will be at the La Plata County Fairgrounds June 4, 11, 18, 25 and July 1-2, 9 and 16 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Admission is $10 adults, $6 seniors and youth. Info: 970-749-9790.
Meanwhile, Cross Roads Co. presents the 2008 Durango Pro Rodeo Series at La Plata County Fairgrounds June 7, 14, 21, 28 and July 4-5, 11-12 and 18-19. Events include saddle bronc riding; novice and legendary bulls; team roping, breakaway roping; bull riding; steer riding; bareback riding; junior barrel racing; rescue race and mutton busting; wild horse race; ranch bronc riding; pro freestyle bullfights; and other special events.
