Vail Resorts, the nation’s largest ski-area operator, is taking its conservation mission one step further by asking employees to come up with ideas to reduce energy usage by 10 percent within two years.
In an e-mail sent to employees Thursday explaining the mandate, chief executive Rob Katz asked for energy-efficiency ideas to apply on the slopes without detracting from skiers’ experiences.
