ARAPAHOE COUNTY — Two Glendale police officers face charges of destroying evidence during a prostitution sting.

Officers Lt. Mike Gross and Detective Roy Martin are on leave with pay after a grand jury indictment. It alleges they destroyed notes Martin took stating “begins oral stimulation” as he listened to Gross play the role of the “John” with suspected prostitutes in an adjoining motel room.

The indictment says some their colleagues believed the notes were evidence, and Gross was “upset and angry.”

The sting resulted in the arrest of several women.

Gross and Martin face charges of tampering with physical evidence and conspiring to tamper with physical evidence. Each count is punishable by up to 18 months in prison.
