A body was discovered inside an RV that was gutted in a fire early this morning, authorities say.
Flames were shooting above the RV parked in a strip-mall lot in the 2200 block of South Monaco Parkway when firefighters arrived just after 4 a.m., said Alex Paez, spokesman for the Denver Fire Department.
After firefighters extinguished the blaze, they discovered the body, whose gender and identity has not yet been determined, Paez said.
Investigators are still trying to determine whether the fire was intentionally started or an accident, Paez said.
RVs tend to burn quickly and hot because their thin aluminum skin holds heat and the vehicle carries propane and gasoline, Paez said.
The flames from the RV scorched a wooden fence next to the parking lot, he said.
