Rescuers searched unsuccessfully Monday for two people on a twin-engine private plane that disappeared in the area around the Yampa Valley.
Ground crews and Civil Air Patrol aircraft searched a broad area near Rabbit Ears Pass and along a 35-mile stretch of the Yampa River for the Cessna 310, said Riley Polumbus, spokeswoman for Routt County search and rescue.
The plane left Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Hayden at 8 a.m. Sunday, bound for Fort Collins.
Family members identified those on board as the pilot, Levi Klapperich, 26, of Durango, and his father, Mark Klapperich, 56, of Hayden.
