PENSACOLA, Fla. — A body found off a beach here Monday could be that of a missing Air Force pilot and Colorado Springs native, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.
John H. Alley, a 2006 Air Force Academy graduate and second lieutenant, has been missing since Saturday. His car was found crashed into a guardrail Saturday with his keys, cellphone and wallet locked inside.
The 26-year-old was found a quarter-mile from the crash site.
His wife, Emily, who is more than four months pregnant, said she last saw him about 6:30 a.m. Friday when he kissed her goodbye and left for work, The Pensacola News Journal reported.
A beachwalker Monday spotted the body, dressed in a green flightsuit.
Officials were going to perform an autopsy, but an assistant police chief told the Pensacola paper he was “99 percent sure” it was Alley.
