DENVER—The father of a 10-year-old girl who was shot in the head and killed at her home in November is being ordered to stand trial on a charge of child abuse.
Judge Andrew Armatas made that decision Tuesday at the end of a preliminary hearing for 29-year-old Leo Cisneros. He’s accused in connection with the Nov. 26 death of his daughter, Auralia.
Armatas agreed to a request to lower Cisneros’ bond from $500,000, but denied a defense argument that Cisneros was not a flight risk and ought to freed—with an ankle monitor—into the custody of his family.
Auralia Cisneros was hit with a bullet after several men opened the door of the family’s apartment and began shooting.
Leo Cisneros is being held in the Arapahoe County jail on $250,000 bond.
