Former Assistant City Attorney Lynn Lehmann died May 17 after a long battle with cancer.
Lehmann, husband of Denver City Councilwoman Peggy Lehmann, supervised the human services section of the city attorney’s office from 1984 until 2001.
Lehmann helped revise the Colorado Children’s Code, which resulted in speedier dispositions for children who have been taken from their parents.
The revisions also allowed better exchange of information between the school districts, the social services department and the legal system.
“He was brilliant, had integrity and a sense of fair play,” said former Juvenile Court Judge Orrelle Weeks.
Peggy Lehmann has served District 4 for more than six years.
