The McNay Art Museum in San Antonio unveils the new Jane and Arthur Stieren Center for Exhibitions on Saturday, effectively doubling the museum’s size and making it possible to display nearly all of its contemporary collection. To mark the debut, the museum will feature “American Art Since 1945: In a New Light,” which will showcase the new exhibit hall’s natural light, courtesy of its two-story glass structure and “glass curtain” walls designed by architect Jean-Paul Viguier, who designed the Sofitel Water Tower Hotel in Chicago. The debut exhibition features new acquisitions from artists Willem de Kooning, Larry Poons and Dorothea Rockburne. Admission: $8 adults, $5 students, under 12 free. Free Thurs. 4-9 p.m. and first Sunday of the month. McNay Art Museum, 6000 N. New Braunfels Ave., 210-824-5368,
