In defense of the Rockies, don’t put the defense on the witness stand. A season after setting a major- league record with a .989 fielding percentage, Colorado’s gloves are guilty of betrayal. The Rockies committed two errors Monday at Dodger Stadium, including a poor throw from third baseman Garrett Atkins that led to a pair of unearned runs. The Rockies have made errors in nine of their last 10 games, leaving them on pace for 95. They committed 68 last season.
