ASPEN, Colo.—The highway over Independence Pass is scheduled to reopen for the summer on Thursday after crews spent a month clearing away deep snow.
Colorado 82 winds over the 12,100-foot-high pass, connecting Aspen and Leadville.
A state heavy equipment manager has said there was more snow on the route this year than in 25 years.
The pass has been closed since Nov. 7
