The four-time series runner-up continues to do well as a part-time driver for middle-of-the-road teams. Currently with Dale Earnhardt Inc., Martin is 24th in the standings despite choosing to race in just 10 of the 13 races. He’s ahead of 10 drivers who have started every race. Compared to last year, that’s not unusual. In 2007, when he drove selected races for Ginn Racing, he started 24-of-36 point races and finished 27th in the standings, ahead of seven drivers who had at least 30 starts.
