Vail Resorts reported record profits for its fiscal third quarter Thursday, but the results fell short of Wall Street expectations. Chief executive Rob Katz said Vail Resorts now expects net income for the full fiscal year to be at or slightly below its previous guidance of $112 million to $122 million.

The Broomfield-based company reported net income of $87.3 million, or $2.24 per share, on revenue of $423.8 million for the three months that ended April 30. That was up 11 percent from net income of $78.5 million, or $1.99 per share, on revenue of $369.5 million in the same period in 2007.
