GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A woman accused of giving birth to a baby boy and hiding him in a closet for two months will return to Grand Junction to face criminal charges.
Twenty-two-year-old Morgan Hite is charged with first-degree murder in the death of the boy. His remains were discovered April 29th at her parents’ home in Grand Junction.
She was arrested in Alaska last month and fought extradition. But Alaska State Patrol spokeswoman Beth Ipsen says Hite signed extradition papers during a court hearing on Monday.
Police say Hite secretly delivered a baby boy in a neighbor’s bathtub, then wrapped him in a garbage bag, put him in a plastic tote and put the baby in a closet at her family’s home.
Details on when and how Hite will be extradited are not being released.
