DENVER—The Colorado Rockies activated pitcher Luis Vizcaino from the disabled list before their game with the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night.
The right-handed Vizcaino has made two appearances this season, allowing four earned runs in 1 1-3 innings. He’s been out since April 4 because of a strained right shoulder.
“I feel good. I’m ready to go,” Vizcaino said.
To make room for Vizcaino on the roster, Colorado optioned left-handed pitcher Glendon Rusch to Triple-A Colorado Springs. Rusch made one start for Colorado, giving up five runs in 4 1-3 innings in a loss to the Chicago Cubs on May 31.
Vizcaino was signed on Dec. 21 to be a late inning reliever, replacing LaTroy Hawkins, who joined the New York Yankees in the offseason. Vizcaino has appeared in at least 70 games in five of the previous six seasons.
