SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.—A Denver man has been sentenced to 18 to 36 months behind bars in Nebraska for the death of his girlfriend.
Turner Clay, who used to live in Gering, Neb., was sentenced Monday for motor vehicle homicide.
Authorities say the 22-year-old Clay was intoxicated when he drove his vehicle into an irrigation canal northwest of Scottsbluff. His girlfriend, 18-year-old Johanna Teahon of Gering, was killed in the Sept. 1 crash.
Clay tearfully apologized to her family on Monday and said he would trade places with Teahon if he could.
