NEW YORK — The latest skyscraper to go up in Manhattan is 65 feet tall, weighs 7 tons and is constructed of about 1 million stainless-steel replica Erector-set pieces. The skyscraper — a sculpture by artist Chris Burden called “What My Dad Gave Me” — was unveiled at Rockefeller Center on Tuesday.

Burden gained notoriety in 1971 as a performance artist when he had a friend shoot him in the arm with a rifle. For the past decade, he has been working with replica Erector-set pieces. The six-story skyscraper will be on view through July 19. The Associated Press
