COLORADO JUDICIAL INSTITUTE: Named Meghan W. Martinez, a shareholder at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, to the board of directors. Martinez will serve a three-year term to support the institute’s mission of improving Colorado’s courts.

THE COLORADO HISTORICAL SOCIETY: Announced that Gov. Bill Ritter has appointed Edward C. Nichols as state historic-preservation officer. Nichols is the president and chief executive of the Colorado Historical Society.

QWEST: Named James Campbell state president for Arizona. Patrick Quinn, the current president in Arizona, will retire after 31 years.
