“Dream Destinations: 100 of the World’s Best Vacations” ($39.95, Life Books) should have Snowmass feeling pretty fabulousthe Colorado ski area is in here with the Netherlands, the Vatican, Provence and Banff. It’s a fun coffee table book to peruse, especially if you do it with an eye toward either ticking off the places you’ve been or the ones you’d like to visit. The editors of Life magazine who chose the 100 — dividing them into such categories as “for families,” which is where Snowmass wound up, or “for history buffs” or “romantics” — claim these are the “very best.” But you can be the judge, enjoying the gorgeous color photographs and dreaming along the way. The downside is, for $40, there’s no real information here.
