South Suburban Parks and Recreation invites those ages 8 and up on a “family oriented” 29-mile canoe paddle trip on the Gunnison River through Escalante and Dominguez canyons, including time for swimming and hiking from 6:30 a.m. June 21 until 3:30 p.m. June 22 or 6:30 a.m. June 28 until 3:30 p.m. June 29. Boats, accessories, meals and guides are provided; participants bring tent, sleeping bag and personal clothing. Youths ages 8-17 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Ski Train summer schedule.
The Ski Train will travel to Winter Park Resort on Saturdays through Aug. 23. Adults of all ages traveling in coach will pay the children’s rate, $39, for the first two day trips of the summer Ski Train season. The train will leave Denver’s Union Station at 9 a.m.; the return trip departs from Winter Park at 3 p.m. Once at the resort, passengers may choose from a variety of activities, including hiking, biking (on-train bike transport is free), miniature golf, chairlift rides or trips down the Alpine Slide. Beginning July 5, the regular round-trip adult coach fare will be $49. Club Car tickets are $74 and include a continental breakfast, snacks and nonalcoholic beverages on the return trip. Rafting trip
