GREELEY, Colo.—Weld County prosecutors have dropped a DUI charge against Colorado Eagles hockey defenseman Les Borsheim filed for a motorcycle accident June 1.
In a statement, District Attorney Ken Buck said he was dropping the charge in the “interest of justice.”
Borsheim underwent surgery to repair damage to his neck and is undergoing rehabilitation. Buck said he based his decision partly on Borsheim’s medical issues, along with insufficient blood test results.
The 29-year-old Borsheim is a fan favorite of the Central Hockey League team.
