ASPEN, Colo.—The southern Colorado estate of the late singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg is under contract, Aspen real estate agent Joshua Saslove said.
Saslove has been working on selling Mountain Bird Ranch in Pagosa Springs for about four years. It was once listed at $17.5 million but most recently was listed at $15 million. Saslove did not disclose the price of the pending sale or the purchaser.
Fogelberg died of prostate cancer at the age of 56 in December.
His estate includes a four-bedroom house with a professional recording studio, gym and greenhouse; a 12-stall stable, riding arenas and outbuildings; a caretaker’s house; and a studio apartment.
The recording studio was built in the late 1980s. “A lot of music was recorded in that studio. Not just Dan’s, but other people’s as well,” Saslove said.
Saslove said the buyer owns other properties in Colorado and does not plan to develop the Fogelberg ranch. “His intention is to keep it as a ranch,” Saslove said.
