MVP EMILIO LAUNCHES THREE IN WIN VS. BULLS

WASHINGTON — Luciano Emilio had his first three-goal game, leading D.C. United to a 4-1 MLS victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night.

Emilio, last year’s league MVP, has scored in each of the last four games, notching six goals of his seven goals in that span.

Clyde Simms scored in the 26th minute for D.C. United, which has a four-game unbeaten streak.

The United (5-7-1) has won its last two after a 2-7 start to the season.

Dave van den Bergh scored in the 54th minute for the Red Bulls (4-4-3).

Crew 3, Wizards 0

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Alejandro Moreno scored a goal in each half and Columbus broke a club-record goal drought and four-match winless streak with a victory over Kansas City (3-5-3).

Chad Marshall also scored for the Crew (7-4-1), which were 0-3-1 in its last four — all shutouts.

Galaxy 3, Earthquakes 0

OAKLAND, Calif. — Edson Buddle scored three goals to power Los Angeles ( 6-4-2) to a victory over San Jose (3-7-1).

Real Salt Lake 1, CD Chivas 0

CARSON, Calif. — Robbie Findley’s goal in the 33rd minute was the winner.
