TORONTO — Rohan Ricketts scored his first two Major League Soccer goals as Toronto FC remained unbeaten at home with a 3-1 victory over the Rapids on Saturday night.

“I just felt free, like ‘I can’t believe I scored,’ ” Ricketts said. “Especially the second one. I scored two goals in one game. I’ve never done that.”

Danny Dichio also scored for Toronto (6-4-2), which improved to 5-0-2 at home and won despite missing five starters to international assignments.

Dichio scored his fifth goal in the 37th minute from just inside the penalty area to the right corner past Colorado goalkeeper Preston Burpo.

Ricketts notched his first MLS goal to make it 2-0 in the 58th minute when he booted the ball into the right corner from 18 yards out. Ricketts scored again eight minutes later.

The lone goal for Colorado (5-6-0) came in the 81st minute, when Christian Gomez connected on a free kick.

The win was an impressive for Toronto, which was without goalie Greg Sutton, defender Jim Brennan, midfielder Maurice Edu, defender Tyrone Marshall and midfielder Amado Guevara.
