Carmelo Anthony was a no-show in Denver traffic court Monday, but it was no problem: The Nuggets all-star forward paid a $130 speeding ticket by mail on May 23, court records showed.
Anthony was to be arraigned on the speeding charge Monday afternoon, but the court date had been vacated by his guilty plea and payment of the fine.
Anthony, 24, was ticketed for speeding on May 3. Police said he was traveling 60 mph in a 45 mph zone at 4:13 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Santa Fe Drive.
The case is unrelated to an earlier and still-pending drunken driving charge against Anthony.
On April 14 in the early morning hours after a Nuggets game, Anthony was pulled over on Interstate 25 and failed a series of roadside sobriety tests. His blood-alcohol level that night was 0.148, above the .08 limit to drive a vehicle.
Anthony is expected to enter a plea on the drunken driving charge on June 24.
