BOULDER — A Colorado Springs man convicted of slaying a police detective has been convicted of stabbing his sister 13 times.

Jereme Lamberth was convicted of attempted murder Tuesday in the February 2006 attack on 32-year-old Melanie Schweinhardt.

Schweinhardt was stabbed over an argument about who would give their mother a ride.

It was that case that Colorado Springs Detective Jared Jensen was investigating when he was gunned down that same month.

Lamberth’s attempted murder trial was moved to Boulder to ensure an unbiased jury.

Lamberth is serving a 96-year sentence for Jensen’s slaying.
