Philadelphia — Highlands Ranch gymnast Alexander “Sasha” Artemev, who was shaky in the second of two sessions at the Olympic Trials on Saturday, was not selected for the six-man Olympic Team Sunday. He was named as a “replacement” athlete, meaning he could be added to the team if someone on the team is unable to compete.
Denver native Guillermo Alvarez was left off the team as well.
Named to the team were Paul Hamm, Jonathan Horton, Morgan Hamm, Kevin Tan, Joe Hagerty and Justin Spring. Joining Artemev on the list of alternates are David Durante and Raj Bhavsar.
