Firefighters put out a fire that burned half an acre of grass at Bear Creek Lake Park earlier this evening.
The fire kicked up a lot of smoke. But after a ranger reported it at about 5:45 p.m., the West Metro Fire Rescue cleared the area within one hour, said Michelle French, a spokeswoman for the department.
It’s not clear what started the fire, French said.
