Getting your player ready...

Professor Splash, a.k.a. Darren Taylor, was born and raised in Denver, went to North Highand plans to make a big splash at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Water World’s Big Top opening.

He’s down to set the world record for the highest, shallowest dive — breaking his own records set in Italy, Spain, Japan and Germany.

Splash, 47, just keeps going higher.

On Thursday, he’ll leap 35 feet, 4 inches into 12 inches of water.

“It’s a monster dive,” he says. “Am I nervous? Oh yeah.”

He was knocked out doing this once. He says you have to keep your chin up. You have to make a regular dive, but land flat.

If you’re there, expect to get wet.

“I go through a lot of water. I bottom out.”

Just do it again.

Denver Post reporter Doug Brown is everywhere this week. His book, “Just Do It,” chronicles his adventure with his wife, Annie, in having sex for 101 days straight. It’s generating a lot of buzz.

People magazine comes up with a story on Thursday. The Browns are on “Today” twice Thursday morning. And don’t forget “Inside Edition” on Thursday and “The Insider.” Then they’re on Fox’s “Morning Show with Mike and Juliet.” After a vacation, they’re back in Denver on FOX 31’s “Good Day Colorado” on July 7.

She’s the “Queen of the Road,” Boulder psychiatrist Doreen Orion, who, with her shrink husband, left their jobs, climbed into a converted bus and drove 22,000 miles around America, 47 states, with 200 shoes, two cats and a poodle.

Sounds pretty grim to me. And at first, it sounded grim to her too.

“My husband came home one day with this idea, out of the blue,” she says. “I wanted to know why he couldn’t be like a normal man in midlife crisis — have an affair and buy a Corvette.”

Their road trip included fire, flood, armed robbery — and a stay at a nudist RV park.

“It was a great experience,” she says. “No one cares how you look. It was a great lesson in letting it all hang out. And I’m telling you, you haven’t lived until you’ve done naked karaoke.”

She’ll talk and sign the book and do her “Queen” routine at 7:30 Thursday night at Tattered Cover Colfax.

“I was shocked how much I ended up loving it,” she says. “We plan on selling our house and living on the bus full time.”
