Six days before the April 26 NFL draft, former University of Colorado linebacker Jordon Dizon was arrested for drunken driving and related charges in Boulder, court records show.

The information about Dizon, a CU co-captain in 2007, was not publicized by Boulder police. Monday, at a court hearing attended by Dizon’s attorney but not Dizon, an Aug. 18 court appearance was set for the 22-year-old from Kauai, Hawaii.

Police reports indicate Dizon’s blood-alcohol content was 0.097, slightly above the 0.08 legal limit to drive. Dizon has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Dizon was a second-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions. He started 46 of his 48 games at CU, finishing with 440 tackles. He was a consensus All-American and the Big 12 defensive player of the year in 2007.
