The Denver district attorney’s office has charged a man suspected of robbing and kidnapping a woman in her home.
Darrell Tyrone Guice, 39, is charged with aggravated robbery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and aggravated motor-vehicle theft.
Authorities say he confronted a 62-year-old woman as she was coming out of her home in the 700 block of South Harrison Street and forced her back inside.
Guice allegedly ransacked her home and fled in her car.
He also is suspected of a May 28 home invasion in the 1000 block of Locust Street, in which a man forced his way into the home of a 57-year-old woman and left with some possessions.
Guice’s criminal record includes arrests for possession of a weapon by an ex-offender, shoplifting and making a false report, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
He was found guilty of aggravated robbery in 1990 and sentenced to 18 years.
Guice remains in the Denver County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
