A Denver District Court jury convicted Tyrell McCrea of conspiracy to commit the murder of 16-year-old Joslynn Thornton on Wednesday, but they could not agree on whether he was guilty of murder and attempted murder.
The Denver district attorney’s office has until July 8 to decide whether to re-try McCrea, 21, on those two counts.
On June 14, 2006, Thornton was visiting her boyfriend at his home in the 5200 block of Xanadu Street when she was struck by gunfire through a living room window.
She died a week later.
