Two neighborhood markets in northeast Denver were doing business in stolen goods, according to Denver police.

A multi-agency raid Tuesday netted seven arrests and thousands of dollars in stolen goods, firearms and cash believed connected to numerous metro-area burglaries, police announced Thursday.

Among those charged were the owners and employees of Tyson’s Food Market in the Holly Square shopping center at 3361 Holly St. A suspicious blaze that consumed much of the strip mall in May is believed to have started in Tyson’s, fire investigators said at the time.

The business reopened as East Side Family Market, 2521 East Bruce Randolph Ave., where fencing stolen goods continued, police said.

Police said Mowfaq Mrowat, 23, and Tayseer Muhammad, 33, were the ringleaders of the fencing operation. Others arrested were Rhaed Abdul-Fattah, 26, Dustine Luebben, 19, Jessica Cobos-Austin, 25, and two juveniles.

Investigators got wind of the operation in April after a string of burglaries in the Park Hill neighborhood. A tip led them to the Tyson’s Food Market, with ties to ring members in Arapahoe County, according to Denver police.
