The first thing that entered 10-year-old Justin Van Cleave’s mind when the big fish grabbed his lure Wednesday at Williams Fork Reservoir was that it might pull him into the water. A short time later, the worry changed to the much more realistic concern that it might peel off all his line.
When the northern pike finally was subdued more than 15 minutes later, it measured 39 inches long and tipped the scales at 22 1/4 pounds. A fifth-grader at Samuels Elementary, Justin used a Sebile Ondu Spoon to fool the lunker.
