More than 30 Colorado State Parks have campground space remaining for at least some portion of the Fourth of July holiday period.
Five — Arkansas Headwaters, Bonny, Elevenmile, Island Acres and John Martin — have availability all four days, July 3-6.

Curecanti access review.
The National Parks Service is entertaining public comment on a Motorized Vehicle Access Plan and Environmental Assessment for Curecanti National Recreation Area. The plan is expected to guide motorized access to Blue Mesa Reservoir and Cimarron for the next 10 to 15 years. The plan also will define snowmobile use on Blue Mesa as it relates to travel below the high-water line.

Orion rising.
Littleton-based Orion Multimedia gathered eight awards from the Outdoor Writers Association of America for its video productions.
Orion’s “Escape to the Wild” series gained three OWAA awards, including first place in the fishing category for a Costa Rican sailfish episode.
An African cape buffalo episode won first place in OWAA’s big game category.
