The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about anticipated high waters on Boulder Creek.

Water being released from the Barker Dam will increase this week.

The sheriff’s office is encouraging parents to keep their children from swimming, wading or playing near the water’s edge, said Sgt. Mike Diamond, spokesman for the office.

“The excess flow significantly increases the dangers to all persons in and around the waters. Tubing and other in-water activities are discouraged during this time,” Diamond said.
