COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say a Fort Carson soldier died in a crash that sent two other people to hospitals.
Colorado Springs police say they responded to the crash around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Police referred questions to the State Patrol. A State Patrol spokesman referred questions to Fort Carson.
Fort Carson spokeswoman Dee McNutt confirmed that a soldier died and that Fort Carson police were involved but said she did not have other details.
KOAA-TV in Colorado Springs reports that Fort Carson police at the scene said the chase began after they tried to stop a suspected drunken driver on the Army post. The chase ended after the driver collided with another vehicle.
Names were not released.
